Smithsonian Video on the Inside Scoop

Smithsonian Latino Center

This brief Smithsonian clip on the Inside Scoop twitter presents a unique way to learn about nature through Immersive Education. In this program, Mi Tierra-Mi Mundo or My Land- My World, any user can become LVM Eco Explorer and venture through the diversity of realms, including snow mountains, rain forests, down the river, and under the depth of the ocean. Diverse representations of the earth allows Eco Explorer to take a virtual journey on anywhere that is built in the system to visually learn the material.

As we explore the various sites including those which cannot be visited easily in real life, we can learn about how nature and human are balanced and interacting each other. Not to mention the importance of discovering artifacts and its effect on our nature. In other words, we can discover artifacts to learn how we influence the nature and how we can preserve it. This useful tool will provide students more affordable and practical skills to learn about nature.
